"Greek" (3.3) recap: The Half-Naked Gun

Warning, spoilers ahead! Don't read any further if you don't want to be spoiled on last night's Greek.

After last week's "Father's Day" detour, Calvin and Grant's relationship moved forward on tonight's Greek as they were able to finally have their first date, but ended up having their relationship discovered.

Living together has turned out to offer more problems for Calvin and Grant than any worry about awkwardness if the relationship didn't last. It's also limited their dating options. If they are going to keep their relationship under wraps and Grant is going to stay in the closet, they can't date in public places and their private room is prone to surprise visits by other Omega Chis.

Calvin and Grant, already having stay-in dates

We see that when they try to have a Hugh Jackman movie night. After debating between two Jackman romances, their date night is interrupted by Evan and date night becomes just another guy movie night. They may be watching Wolverine instead of a romancing Jackman, but it's still a Hugh Jackman movie.

Finally, Ashleigh suggests they have a date in another town, where they're unlikely to be seen by other Cyprus-Rhodes students, an idea that Calvin and Grant take up. At first, I was underwhelmed that they drove 60 miles to have dinner at the local version of Chotchkie's.

However, when Grant pulled the old trick where he gets a free dessert by saying its Calvin's birthday, I was reminded that they're college kids and how in college any meal not eaten in the dining hall is a special treat.
