- For the feint of heart, my last name is actually, as well as surprisingly... Chippendale (Yes I was kinda destined to be gay). I was born in Boston in 1991, and therefore am 16 years old as of this very late school night that I am writing this. Ironically, my coming out story is rather um...ironic. I happened to come out on the manliest day possible... Superbowl Sunday, 2007 (Colts vs. Bears). Long story, semi-short. At the end of 2006, I broke up with my girlfriend of 2 years. And out of no where, a handsome boy happened to appear in my life. He was, different. Quiet. Dark. But there was a comfort in his being that I have never felt in another's. Well, one night, thinking I should try and talk to him, I swiped his number from a friend and gave him a text or 2. He responded, to my surprise, and somehow in that first conversation, he admitted he was questioning, but more importantly, he made me realize I was too... No one really knows this besides you my friend, but my first sexual encounter was with another guy, and it continues to this day, even though he's apparently still straight. I tried to deny my feelings for guys, and continually said, it's just sex. But even after 14 girlfriends over 3 years, some, to my own disgust, overlapping, I was still attracted to men. And there was just something about this handsome boy that didn't make me ashamed of it either. I wasn't alone. So all of January we talked and grew closer, and come that phallic day of February 4th, I was out.
