Republican Presidential Candidates in the Hot Seat Over Gay Rights Issues

Seems like lately the Republican Presidential candidates are finding themselves in very awkward real world exchanges as a result of their anti-gay positions. First an eight year old accosts Michelle Bachmann to express support for his two Mommys. Then Rick Perry gets heckled mercilessly over that vile recent ad of his. The latest? Today a New Hampshire vet in his sixties had an unscripted on camera exchange with Mitt Romney over the subject of DOMA and gay marriage in New Hampshire.

No surprise, but Romney's for repealing the state marriage equality law and upholding the federal DOMA. What might have come as a surprise to Romney - who probably assumed a sixty-year-old white male army vet was precisely his kind of voter and so stopped to speak with him - the man was actually gay and in the company of his husband. Oops. Romney quickly got pulled away to a FOX News taping.

You can check out the video of the entire exchange below (by way of Towleroad)

Seems like the tide may be turning and outside of a core Republican, Christianist base, anti-gay positions aren't playing very well with the public any more.
