"War on Gays Not Why We Fight Wars"

As you might have heard, in 2012 Minnesota voters will be voting on a proposed amendment to the state constitution that would define marriage as only between one man and one woman. That is thanks to a bill that narrowly passed MN's State Senate and House this past week, and voted on almost purely down party lines. (Republicans wanted the ballot measure, Democrats didn't).

Depressing as this turn of events was, there were a few rays of hope in the gloom. Our reader Dennis Mpls shared this video of a speech by MN Representative John Kriesel. He was one of only four House Republicans who voted against the bill.

Kriesel is a vet who lost both legs in Iraq and here he explains why he voted his conscience and against the bill...
